As an A's fan I want you to be right. But I am not getting my hopes up too hight after all of our implosions in the past few years in the playoffs.

I'm an A's fan too.

But this is ridiculous.

I know the Tigers are slumping a bit but even if they get by them there's no way they beat the Yanks or Whitesox in the ALCS...

The A's can't hit and their pitching is nothing special...

wouldn't it be sweet if the big hurt hit a walk off to beat the white sox in the playoffs

if it hadn't been for last night and Kennedy breaking down, would have been 2/3 in the dome where Minnesota plays well. Too bas Liriano is going back on the shelf after 2+ innings today

it's baseball season in my book. football has started but doesn't mean shit for several more weeks. And by the way, there's nothing about Oakland Raiders football that deserves a post on TWW.

Anyone know when/if Rich Harden is coming back?

I read in the paper today he threw a 30 pitch side session and will throw a 60 pitch simulated game early next week. Says he has better control on his slider then he has at any point in his career and is just trying to stretch out his arm so he can be sure he can pitch in the rotation again.

If not, he'll be in the pen...

** I'm pulling for the A's so I can get cheap Mets world series tix!

From what I read he is probably going to be a reliever when he comes back. Wish he could actually play half a season.

nice win, clinching the West tonight would be nice, and Rich Harden gets healthier with each passing day for October.

Zito, Haren, Harden, and Loaiza/Blanton looks nice to me for the playoffs, if everyone is healthy which has been a problem for Oakland. Anyone watch the postgame, The big hurt looked pretty happy and also mentioned he'd never been around a clubhouse as laid back with zero problems over the course of a season.

I am glad they finally clinched last night, they were starting to scare me. I think Harden, Zito, and Loaiza should be good for the playoffs, but I am a little worried about Haren and Blanton. They haven't been pitching that well right now.

I'm rooting for the A's cause I dont want the yankees to have to face Santana....but the A's had the yankees number this year, winning 6 of 9 games. However a few of those were in April when the yankees were off to a slow start.

minnesota is finished, they have very mediocre pitching for 3 nd 4, in which Oakland has Haren and Harden.
