i got a '95, and my security light is blinking. i guess pontiac put a factory security system in it. also, it disables the starter. also i have pulled all my fuses out and put them back in and i have disconnected and reconnected the battery. also, i have a key with a "chip" in it.
given all of these things, does anyone have any idea for a solution? 9/3/2006 11:07:38 PM |

those chips on the keys go bad over time, try getting another key made or use your spare key 9/4/2006 9:39:46 PM |

you need to ground the dark blue wire going into the theft deterrent module to enable the fuel pump, and ground the yellow wire with black tracer to enable the starter solenoid. its behind the glove box, if you take it out, you'll see a small 4" by 4" or so box with one or two relays beside it on the firewall, the plug on the drivers side of the module is where you need to locate the above mentioned wires
yall niggas dont know shit about stealin cars
if you want the light to stop blinking, clip the gray wire
[Edited on September 4, 2006 at 10:43 PM. Reason : if you want me to disable the whole system for ya i could do it next week sometime] 9/4/2006 10:41:14 PM |

could just as easily solder the correct resistor(s) in line with the wires going to the switch. 9/4/2006 11:16:06 PM |

to see if your key is bad you should be able to measure the resistance of the chip using a digital multimeter. If it reads 0 or Infinity I would recommend a new key. Otherwise
normally there should be a factory alarm disarm wire. I did not see one listed for this car, but here are the color codes for the ignition harness to test to see if voltage is getting to the key cylinder. 9/5/2006 1:33:29 PM |
