specs on that laptop look nice, assuming that you're planning to demand a lot of things of this machine. for a laptop, i think that hard drive is probably overkill. and 8.1 lbs is going to be uncomfortable to carry around.

Weight is not one of the primary concerns. This thing isn't gonna get carried into every coffee shop, or across campus, or on a plane, etc.
