i am not seeing how this is a surprise, domestics cars for the most part have always known how to drag in straight lines, thats what they are about, straight line acceleration, within reason

hell most old muscle cars will hand the import dragsters their asses

you havent seen this show. its like girls gone wild, at the dragstrip.

and where did i say i was surprised at the domestics? i was saying its just good to see them handing out asses at NOPI, a historically IMPORT event.

well anyone can swap in a 9" axle if you have some time & fab skills
so then you could have a much better gear ratio....

the awd cars and the fwd cars cant really do that
but ppg makes some pretty nice gear sets for the awd guys

i know you can get quite a range of r&p gears for vws. there are like 6 options for each transmission type. but they aren't cheap.

i'm sure others are like that too i'm just saying you can't swap in a 9" and have the shit-ton they have

and i find it odd that those are still called "ring & pinion" sets aren't they helical cut spur gears?
