Is there anywhere that says that you cannot have liquor at your tailgate?

Because the cops were walking through the lot on Sat. and stopped in front of my car and started looking closer at the back of the SUV across from us and proceeded to walk over and pour out everything that wasn't beer.

that's why i said dispose of it. i didn't mean drink it all at once. you could have everyone have a glass of water which would help be safe in terms of everyone staying hydrated. a good planner though would just buy one a week before the game, drink the water over the week, then come gameday you've got an empty jug/bottle and can pour your vodka in it. save the jug and wash it out every week. also pre-mix your shit is another way to not get caught. buy a couple of big bottles of Coke, and drink them down about 20% of it. pour in your rum, bourbon, etc. and shake. boom instant rum and Coke ready for the pouring. one might want to keep a normal bottle to 1) deter the po-po if they ask to smell your stuff, and 2) if someone would like to weaken their drink a little (but who would do that besides a pussy? )

gotta love NC laws.. I know at Virginia Tech you can have any kind of alcohol as long as it remains inside the yellow rope perimeter that outlines each lot surrounding the stadium.

wine is allowed, but it has to be drank out of a cup. something about glass. they don't like that. i walked down to the mart next to Damon's last year before the UNC game and got a six pack of Yuengling. well on my way back there were some cops and asked to see my license. then they told me to make sure i put it in a cup. i was just like "i didn't know i couldn't do that" (like the guy Dave Chappelle talks about in his comedy show, but i really didn't know that was a rule). they didn't have shit on me, they just wanted to harass a college kid, and make themselves feel powerful. i could see the checking of the id, but getting on me just b/c i didn't have it in a cup, please. i hate RPD, CMPD is awesome.

Cops were cool everytime I saw them...no one in my tailgate party got carded, and I actually had a handle of Beam out for a while. Cops saw it, realized there was nothing wild going on, and went on about their business.

You do have to be somewhat of a dumbass to get caught with liquor at a football game. I have never been caught and have probably been about as open as any dumbass would - just don't offer the cops a fucking drink and you should be OK. Oh, and keep it under a napkin or blanket or some shit.
