A friend of mine who works at an Apple retail store in Germany just emailed me the new iMac pictures. He said the computer will be presented at the Apple show in January 2007. All I can say is ... and that's just for the design!













Does anyone else have any more info about them? Please post some links if you do.

other than it being fake as hell, having all the ports in a very bad location, and being too small for any decent hard drive + good processor + good video card, it looks fucking awesome. If Apple could actually produce something that looks like that but has good internals, it'll sell like mad.

If it's the new iMac it would be iMac priced, 999-2000 starting prices. Apple pricing generally stays the same through multiple generations (like how the 30 gb ipod is 269 just like the old 20 gb photo ipod and just like the 20 gb 4th gen ipod.) If that holds true for something that looks like that, I'm sure people would be more than willing to pay around a thousand for something that unusual looking.

chill out - it's not "the new iMac", and if it was, it wouldn't be priced at $1k or whatever.
A screen like that would be revolutionary, and you'll start seeing screen like that as standalone monitors long before they'll be integrated into all-in-one systems
