So I'm sitting here looking through my queue trying to decide what I want next.

I think I'm going with the following since I've never seen any of them:
Amelie
The Libertine
Brisco County Jr.: Complete Series: Disc 3

Also, I just noticed a fucked up trend of mine... Currently I have the following:
Ichi the Killer
Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky
Versus: Director's Cut

I swear I'm not psycho.

So basically, you can see what I've watched and what I plan to watch. Give me an idea of what I should watch next.

I'm only 5 minutes into it so I dunno yet.
I haven't started Ichi yet either.

But I do know that if there is one single movie that a person should watch at least once in their life it's Riki-Oh

Amelie is good.

The Libertine isn't.

My vote's for Amelie.

I need to clean up my Netflix list some. I have about 60 movies listed, but they aren't in any ideal order. Here are a few of mine. Should I make any order changes?

That Obscure Object of Desire
Paris, Texas
In the Mood for Love
Chinatown
Breaking the Waves
Sweet and Lowdown
Chungking Express
Breathless
Sleeper
Ju Dou

you're not the only one that falls into that. 90% of my netflix was asian movies when i had it, and mostly Takashi Miike, although i didnt think ichi was that great. i enjoyed versus, its a little long, but if you enjoy action money shots (people getting shot in the face and the like) you should enjoy it, although the end makes no sense whatsoever. and Riki-Oh is fucking awesome.

if you want to continue on the asian trend, and can enjoy "bad" movies, try out Bio-Zombie and Ninja in the Claw of the CIA

^^ Chinatown and In the Mood for Love should be moved to the top of your queue if you haven't seen them before.

Somebody has a Kar Wai Wong fetish.

2046 was okay, I guess. I'm hoping these other two are better.

I didn't really like 2046 that much. In the Mood for Love and The Chunky Express are a lot better.

My undying hatred of adding slow motion in post will keep me from ever having a Wong Kar Wai fetish, though.

I didn't really think it was necessary, but it was on 2046 like white on rice. Maybe he doesn't realize that you can make painfully slow movies without it. He needs to go talk to Gus Van Sant.

haha, thats true i havent, but my friend has, and he told me about it. from what i understand it is even slower, but my brain just has a hard time comprehending how that is even possible.

I'm not at all bothered by slow motion done in camera by shooting at a high speed. I fucking love it.

What irritates the shit out of me is shooting at normal speeds and then just slowing that shit down so it's all choppy like a fucking dramatization from Hard Copy or something.

i enjoy "Ichi the Killer" . If you like asian movie, you can try
- Audition, Old Boy,
- Nobody Knows (v. touching), Kikujiro
- Infernal Affairs (Tony Leung )

Versus sucks, but it is a riot to watch with other people, preferably quite drunk. Lots of laughs to be had.

If you like Amelie, definitely put A Very Long Engagement in your queue. Made by the same director, with a lot of the same cast. It's much darker, but still retains the same sense of humor throughout.

I stopped watching Versus about 2/3's of the way through.

Haven't watched Ichi the Killer yet. I've been busy with my new Venture Bros. DVD.

I get one movie at a time rather than three, but when i'm done with one i can bring it back to the store and trade it for a free in-store rental and they'll mail it back, repeat.

plus if you rent a paid in-store rental monday thru thursday you get another in-store one free. i guess that's because of the online membership.. not to mention the mailing time seems quicker than it used to be. I'm gonna count how many movies I end up getting in january.

Fuck it, I don't like the smug assholes that work at BB. They had a free promotion for NetFlix customers to rent for free from the BB store, and I was talked down to the whole time, "Eww, your with THEM?" I wanted to say, "Eww, your a minimum wage retail worker, faggot."

Not to mention that all the people I've talked to that have used both BB and Netflix prefer Netflix because of BB's shitty customer service and problems with quick turnaround.

what you mean, the time between when they get your movie back and when they ship another one? they seem to ship it before they even get your's back, i guess since the blockbuster store can tell them that you've turned it in and it's in the mail.

and the customer service has been good, everytime i've complained about a scratch or something they send me a free in-store rental coupon email

and I've had netflix, they seem pretty much the same to me but the in-store trade-ins put BB on top in my book.

i probably seem like blockbuster's bitch or something, but i'm just tellin my experience with them, can't speak for everyone, maybe i've been lucky

Mainly issues with things like blundered deliveries, like sending the wrong thing. I mean, it seems they compensate well for it by giving so many free rentals and stuff, but I'd rather have a set queue that always works rather than one that might not.

Returning stuff to the store is cool, but getting a rental there wouldn't help me too much, since the BBs I've been to generally don't have nearly the foreign selection I require. So it seems that I may as well stick with Netflix.
