Which dealership sells the lotus elise and exige? I'm assuming Leith probably has them at one of his 'european import' dealerships...anyone know where?

Yea the elise is a hot car. I wouldn't want to drive one around every day though.

Ever since coming back from Turkey I've gotten an itch for a big german luxo sedan.

I think I'm going to pickup an 04 or so 7 series in a couple of years.

Isn't the 7 a bit too large?

Elises are cool and all but you wouldn't want to even park it everywhere, that 1 piece carbon tub is not easily repaired.

My dad has an elise, hes a bout to sell it after he hit a hay barrier on the Duryea hill climb. I got to take it out for a session at VIR North and it was badass.

Ahmet - its not a 1 piece carbon tub. its a two piece clam thats some carbon/fiber glass composite.

I'm not aware of any body shops that can repair it. I don't think too many sections are available for replacement from Lotus either. Fill us in.

The 7 is a big car but it carries a certain stately quality that I like. Its the type of car that makes a person stop and look at regardless of what opinion they harbor about its design.

I'm also tickled by the idea of having a big land yacht in addition to the MR and these big cars drop in value fast .

if you really wanna see one up close, there is a red one that is parked across from harris teeter on glenwood. It's usually there everyday, but sometimes theres a corvette in it's place.

There is also one (gray) parked in the lot by sears at crabtree.
I pass by it when I go to look at tools I can't afford.
Seems fitting, since I can't afford one of those either.

You have to order the clams from Lotus. My dad hit a deer on the way back from Road Atl and with paint, ,new headlight, new side view mirror, new front clam and paint it ended up costing $10,000. The rocker panels are fiber glass and foam so they are not that hard to work on. The plan is to get the car up to track-able apearance and sell it to a track guy for cheaper than a new showroom condition elise.

If you want full carbon clams instead of fiber glass check this site out.
