He's blaming Texas' loss on the new clock rules. Someone needs to tell him he lost by 17 points. 9/11/2006 1:48:28 PM |

He's not saying that. He's saying the new rules are the reason they lost. The reason he lost was Ohio State's defense was kicking their ass. I think he's been .
I don't care really. A football game shouldn't take 4 hours to play though IMO. They need to take out commercials, which they'll never do, so instead they should just adopt NFL rules, who do a nice job in keeping game time to 3 hours.

i wish they would eliminate commercials during quarters, and just have like 10 minute commercial breaks between quarters
but that would never happen 9/11/2006 1:59:39 PM |

^^yeah, i read that. again, it sounds like bitching, but that doesn't sound like hes saying that they would have won if the clock rule hadnt been changed.
it sounds to me like he thinks it hurt their chances of coming back, but he isnt blaming the loss on that.
he's just saying what everyone else seems to be saying as well.

Ok then. But they had scored 1 touchdown in the first 54 minutes, and he thought they were going to score 3 more in the last 6 under the old rules? 9/11/2006 2:03:46 PM |

oh course not, but his chances of doing so were better under the older rule.
crazy things like that have happened.....but they probably won't happen as often anymore thanks to this new rule. 9/11/2006 2:05:44 PM |

or people will have to rely on lining up fast, throwing towards sidelines, spiking balls, etc...aka being aware of the game unlike eli last night in that last drive 9/11/2006 2:06:39 PM |

I think that will be one good thing of this rule that will occur over the course of the season. More no-huddle offense, less substitutions, more two-minute offense type play that will occur the whole game instead, and will result in more plays and less emphasis on coaching versus players.

or someone could inform him that every coach is playing by the new rules too. Or that he can't pull a comeback w/o Vince. 9/11/2006 4:21:34 PM |

they must teach this kind of bullshit to the coaches at UNC. Bunting did the same god damn thing basically...blamed their loss on "a few key plays"...and they lost by 25

We lost a game off a bad play performance by our secondary.
And the ever-present ambiguity that is ACC officiating. 9/11/2006 6:57:13 PM |
