HAIL to that motherfucking finish yesterday... what a great game!

great o-line play, D-line play getting better (4 sacks)... got burned on the blitz a little but i think springs being back in a couple weeks makes the D a legit top-10-15 D... archuleta looked much better, and rumph and wright even looked alright when they weren't bouncing off reggie williams.

and HOW ABOUT running all over the defense that hadn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in however many, 15 or so games. we put up 36! portis really has been amazing the last two games. yesterday looked like the 5-game win streak at the end of last season with regards to pounding the run in the second half.

all that and I haven't even mentioned santana. GREAT, great win. next week will be interesting.

im gonna say Gregg Williams was the reason so many points were scored yesterday against our D. He brought the house on every 3rd down......allowing those big plays for TD's

i agree wholeheartedly. I mean, the pressure worked in many occasions, but their two big plays in the first half were entirely the result of too much blitzing.

we need shawn springs back BAD.

rogers would make a better safety than CB, in my opinion. he plays way off and you only notice him making good plays when he destroys someone in the open field.

i'm glad AA finally showed up.

the blitzes didn't work because we ran the 2005 ncsu blitz package, which means 4 defenders go flying past the QB on either side and he has plenty of time to throw it into the undermanned secondary.

rumph made a good play, so that means we won the taylor jacobs trade

my favorite taylor jacobs moment:

when he got hit and ran off the field screaming that he had a concussion

i really need to find a bar where other skins fans hang out, although im quickly becoming a chargers fan (albeit a bandwagon one)

but man is he good against the run. and a great tackler. rather him than pac-man jones or antrel rolle? I think so, probably. I think we're also forgetting exactly how damn good springs is. being the #2 corner again will make a big difference for carlos.

Q: Why did the Skins pick up TJ Duckett?

He would be a hell of a lot more reliable on a play where we need 1-2 yards than Betts.

Maybe we just hate the draft so much that we'd rather have an inactive player than a 3rd round draft pick. I know I'm never excited for the Skins on draft day, not since Arrington and Samuels went 2-3.

I think they panicked when CP got hurt so they signed TJ. Once they realized Portis would be ok they figured they needed that roster spot for another position. I would imagine they are going to trade him before the trading deadline.

skins knew they would be competing with the falcons for a wildcard spot, so they took their third-best running back away from them

no that doesn't make much sense but you try and come up with something better

okay i've got it; danny realized tj is worth more than a third round pick so he figured he'd buy low and sell high

that is slightly more feasible than the ultimate redskins front office strategy (i didn't come up with it till draft eve, which was surely too late to e-mail to danny this year):

a) convince Denny Green to restructure his contract such that he owes the Cards 3 million if he leaves early.

b) hire Denny Green away from the Cards. give him a 3 million dollar signing bonus.

c) trade Denny Green back to the Cards for a first-round draft pick. (to be dubbed the "crackhead with your car stereo" maneuver)

d) trade the new first round pick to green bay for charles woodson

[Edited on October 3, 2006 at 9:57 PM. Reason : also tally is already aware of the strategy]

ya know, i didn't think we could have possibly played worse offensively than we did in the first half

then i watched the second half and just about threw up

this team has serious problems and is going nowhere fast

i realize it's early in the season, but this is one of the most disheartening losses i've seen in years

the only points we were able to muster came in the first quarter where penalties essentially marched us down the field

sure, last years loss to the Giants on the road was a complete shut out, but this game was even worse IMO

there is no consistency from week to week

except the secondary sucking

this week's special feature was poor tackling

the defense didn't play nearly as poorly as the offense did

this score should have been a lot worse, all the field goals in the first half could very well have been TDs

every single time we had the ball on offense it was 3 and out- we only had two chances to even come close to scoring.

I hate to say it... But its time for #17.. But I seriously doubt Coach Gibbs starts him next week. If he was going to he would've put him in late in the 4th quarter.

i dont blame Brunell really- the Giants blitzed a lot and have a great secondary

i blame the O line, the offensive coordinator for trying to run against a stout D, and Clinton Portis for being a pussy and running right into traffic every carry he had- don't play if you're still hurt

I dont really blame Brunell, but if we're going to lose games and show no offense, why not put the kid in and let him get some experience.. If we somehow flounder our way through this season and not make the playoffs with Brunell then we'll have an untested QB going into next year. At least play Campbell so he'll be ready for next year, and who knows a QB change may lead to a spark..

my problem with jason campbell is that there is no news saying that he is particularly impressive, or even that he doesn't suck. he's just someone who isn't named brunell.

until the season is a lost cause, i don't think "he's not mark brunell" is a good enough reason to put him in.

plus brunell can be a fucking stud when he gets into a rhythm

sure he didnt do jack shit for us today, but he certainly didnt play so poorly that it warrants him being benched

if he threw picks all day long i'd consider it, but honestly he plays just as inconsistantly as everyone else (IE Portis, Moss)

I've been struggling at RB in fantasy all year, but I have held on to Ladell Betts for times like this. It sucks Portis is hurt, but it will give Betts time to shine and get me some f'n points.

man that was the worst playcalling I've ever seen. didn't help that the guys coulodn't execute. and tackling? good lord. they're gonna have to hit the sleighs HARD this upcoming week. we couldn't tackle a simple math problem, let alone Betts & co.

^^ with the way the D was playing there was no reason not to kick that field goal. make it take the full length of the field to beat you, when the skins D had been holding them all day. if they had went for it and gotten nothing, this game would be in overtime right now
