How much experience / access to these resources do you have?
My recommendation for the security one, look up and run the "CIS NG" tool for both XP and 2003. Understand what each setting is and why they recommend changing from the default. Understand when/why to apply special security (as it breaks damn near everything). Understand why the tool is imperfect and be able to explain/justify when you move away from the template recommendation. I'm not advocating this as a "catch-all" tool, but it helped me learn a LOT in a short period of time, and you can Google anything you don't know. 9/12/2006 10:46:30 PM |
