Lots of slow guitar-based songs.

Here, listen to some of the stuff on this:

i've heard three or four different people who saw her at different times say that her live shows made them hate her.

basically she's crazy and can't finish a song, much less a set.

perhaps she has improved.

You should expect the worst live performance you've ever seen ever, including any friends' bands in high school or college.

Seriously, if you like Cat Power, don't go see her.

She has a newer soul sound now. Her band for at least half her shows are members of Al Green's old band and they are flawless. I don't think you have much to worry about as far as performance goes.

i think based on many of the testemonials in this very thread, there is plenty of reason to worry. she has a bad track record for live performances at best.

i've heard numerous times that she's gotten her shit together enough to play a decent set now.

Interesting.

I saw her in Winston three or four years ago, and I would say she finished 1/4 of her songs, had to start over on 1/4, and gave up on 1/2 before they were over. She also played one song twice without realizing it. The whole time, people were shouting "WE LOVE YOU, CHAN!" and I wanted to punch them in the face.

she was definitely rocking out the elaine dance - the memphis band she was playing with was pretty good

the best song of the night was by far the gnarls barkley "crazy" cover

she talked for about 15min. straight about 3/4 of the way through and i thought she might never shut up - good voice but she's all fucked up in the head

it didn't sound too much like the original - she forgot the words to the 2nd verse and paused for about 30seconds until it came back to her

what a fucking whacko she was

Hahahaha, I watched that video again.

I don't understand how she manages to write music at all with such atrocious rhythm.

You don't need rhythm to WRITE music. You need rhythm to PERFORM music.

Which she has quite a bit of trouble with.
