I don't think a terrorist group would blow up the Vatican. Do you realize the amount of nuclear bombs that would enter the middle east if that happened.

Oh, and I'm Catholic so I'm sure I'm biased on this, but did anyone have any major problems with his speech? I know the one line he quoted from the Emperor about Islam bringing nothing new except evil or some shit was insensitive and shouldn't have been said, but I'm not sure this deserves the outcry it's getting.

Nobody is disputing that Christianity hasn't been used as the basis of many wars. Thats not the issue, at least in my mind. Religion in general has been a major part or starting factor in many of the wars in human history.

But if somebody shows a picture of Jesus and takes a shit on it, or something, I feel bad for that person and maybe pray for them or something. If somebody makes a joke about Christians or Christianity, I usually have a sense of humor enough to laugh at it, unless its something really tasteless. Muslim clerics regularly denounce Christians and issue messages about burning the West and slaughtering the Jews and Christians. Do we rampage in the streets though and burn images of Muhammad? Nope. Thats the irony of the situation. With their stampede against the cartoons in Europe, I wonder what the Muslim communities reaction would be if Trey and Matt wrote Muhammad into some South Park episodes like Jesus. Would they have a death threat issued on them? In all probability, I think they would.

People just need to chill and respect the fact that not everybody agrees with your religion, politics, or whatever. And blowing them up will not make the situation any better.

Have you heard of the Middle East? Africa? Hell, most of Europe for that matter. Christianity is not a 'superpower' as you seem to think it is. As of 2000, the world was about 30% Christian and declining...Islam accounted for 21% and growing, and that's not counting Hindu (14%) and non-religious (16%). In short, non-Christians are the majority in the world, and Islam is the strongest non-Christian religion on Earth.
