don't you have to pay a mandatory $50 bucks a month EXTRA when you have a Blackberry with Alltel for the internet?

no its not. you have to have an extra data package on your plan if you use a blackberry. its either $35, $40, or $45 depending on whether or not your carrier has any promotions.
and they will not let yuo use a blackberry without adding on the extra data plan 9/17/2006 10:31:20 AM |

^ and your point is? anyone wanting a blackberry will find all that out before buying it, anyways. if not, let them find out. and we wonder why we can never sell anything good here for a reasonable price 9/17/2006 10:43:42 AM |

IE. any other service with a data plan. Take it or leave it. If you are looking for a regular cell phone, this is not for you. 9/17/2006 10:44:22 AM |

my point is this:
Quote : | "don't you have to pay a mandatory $50 bucks a month EXTRA when you have a Blackberry with Alltel for the internet?" | honest question
Quote : | "Its like any other service, with any other service company" | not an honest answer9/17/2006 12:04:27 PM |

Yep, you have to buy the service plan. And unlike most, I think all, other PDA phones with internet access, you cannot just "turn off" the phone's internet connectivity, it actively searches for a connection whether you want it or not. You'll have one HELL of a bill if you don't get the data plan. That being said, it's a good phone, I have one for Verizon... which I'm getting rid of too. The phone has tons of apps and gets great reception. He's selling a decent phone.

You can use the blackberry without a data service package, You just wont be able to surf the internet or Send/recieve Emails. The Blackberry requires a constant internet connection, and even while idle it will send and recieve data. If you were on a regulalr cell phone data plan, it would burn a hole in your wallet.
