I just want to let everyone know that there is an SSDP being organized on campus. We're working on getting into the shakathon, and we've got plenty of other plans. We just need support. Check out our myspace page http://www.myspace.com/ssdpncsu for details and information about events.

PM me if anyone has questions or would like to contribute to our shakathon fund.

PEACE and POT

There was an SSDP on campus for several years while I was an undergrad. They mostly did drum circles and had meetings once a month, from what I remember. It generally doesn't have much support among the NC State crowd, even though there may be a lot of college student pot smokers.

Oh, and posting this on TWW may not be a brilliant move on your part. There's cops on here from time to time.

Potheads don't have enough ambition to actually make something happen. They're good at getting stoned and talking about it, though.

Im for a group like this, but in my experience groups like this usually hurt themselves by being pot heads that no one will take seriously. If you want to be taken seriously operate like a political group, and not like a bunch of hippies with drum circles.

I'm not a pot smoker, but I'd have to agree with a SSDP group's policy. Penn & Teller: Bullshit is full of selling points.

Register yourself as a student organization and get some webspace to put up a website on. A Myspace sites loses all credibility from the start, sorry.

Saying shit like that is why no one takes you seriously. Act like a real group from time to time and maybe your cause will get some decent attention. Instead, its always some guy who doesn't bathe wearing a fucking poncho in front of the white house who hasn't seen a razor in 5 weeks and smells like a homeless guy's vomit collection.

HAHAHA.

First off, i'm definitely not a hippie. I don't own a single piece of tyedye, i listen to punk and skin music, and my hair is significantly shorter than yours.

Secondly, I looked at your picture... and it made me chuckle...

Third, you listen to emo, and for that I should beat the fuck out of you.... or maybe help you take up a collection to buy some balls.

Hows that for hippie bitch?

You don't have to have long hair or listen to widespread to be a hippie. You just have to put together gay little clubs like yours and think you'll ever get any farther than a drum circle downtown.

Let's take a little looksee at your respectable organizations homepage

a) It has a picture of a fucking cat on it

b)
Quote :
"We are the Students for a Sensible Drug Policy - NCSU chapter. We are a fed up with our government spending billions of dollars each year on anti-drug propoganda, enforcement of drug laws, and the incareration of tens of thousands of our citizens. While we acknowledge that the affects of drug abuse is very real, they are not addressed by our current system, and addicts are locked away rather than treated, for crimes that cause harm only to themselves. We are about personal freedom. We believe that the large majority of drug users in the country are responsible and should be allowed to make informed, responsible decisions about which drugs they chose to introduce into their bodies, as long as they don't harm others. "

Plz 2 write in Engrish w/ Korect Grmmrz

c) The entire site is poorly done. Your site lacks any statistics but is full up on rhetoric. Your only event is a "possible" spot sitting in a shack for a week. I guess that fits in with your hippie bullshit mentality though. Let's get people excited about our cause, but not actually DO anything which might illicit excitement.

Also, shut the fuck up you piece of shit poli-sci teenaged assclown.

I'd hit it, what again is your point with the punk macho posturing bullshit? Just because you listen to 'punk and skin' music does not prove your masculinity over people who listen to 'emo'. I am so tired of this scenester bullshit, it is guys like you that made me give up on most punk rock as a valid means of social change. Most of your fellow punk rockers treat women like shit, deny their blatant racism, and are oblivious to issues that don't affect them.

Be a real 'man' by supporting women and dropping the homophobic bullshit, quit acting like a fucking tool by learning some acceptance, and maybe the rest of us will take your little pot project seriously.

actually, deputydog isnt bullshitting you. its pretty fucking hard to get prison time in this state for the types of drug crimes that you would be charged with as a simple user.

very fucking hard. you could get caught with pot a million times before you even got 15-30 days in jail.

you could easily get caught with a gram of cocaine 3 times before you have to even worry about prison, and some people dont even go on the 3rd time

if you have intent to sell tacked on there, though... you get about one chance then you go to prison

the drug laws in nc are honestly the fairest laws in the whole state.

and you wouldnt believe how many people i met in treatment that were just there cause a judge said they could get drug charges dropped

I don't know who the hell you've dealt with jackleg, but I personally have several friends who have been jailed for prolonged periods of time for possession w/o intent to sell.

The point is however, that it shouldn't be possible to jail people anyways. Especially for non-violent offenses.

And me calling bgmims out for liking emo is no different than him calling me a hippy because i'm in favor of legalization. I was making a point that because someone sees the harms the drug war is causing in the country, and opposes prohibition, they're not automatically a hippy.

And saying that i'm homophobic is pretty fucking stupid considering you don't know me at all.... in fact, i'm pretty sure you jumped the gun on that one.

im really curious what you mean by prolonged periods of time. and how many times they got busted. cause ive seen so many felony drug charges disappear that its not even funny. and simple posession of marijuana is far from a felony..

i dont think people belong in jail for it either, but they give you SO MANY FUCKING CHANCES, man. your average smoker wont ever get caught anyways..

That is not why I called you out. In fact, I called your movement out, not you specifically.

I actually favor legalization of marijuana, so you might not want to jump the gun on that one either.

Here's an idea....how about not having the drugs in possession at all? Then you certainly wouldn't have to worry about any jailtime. What ever happened to just saying no

Honestly, I don't know why the government doesn't legalize marijuana and then tax and regulate the shit out of it. They'd make tons of money and create more bureaucracy, which they love. Some federal agents would be out of work, but they could become regulators.

With that said, the last thing that'll make any difference is a bunch of patchouli-smellin' motherfuckers politicking on myspace.

Is making weed legal honestly a hot political issue right now?

What the fuck is with you people? You're supposed to hold peace rallies against the war and demonstrations against big oil and then get stoned. Not get stoned and talk about making it legal.

^ You could smoke up, and then the next 5 min would seem like 20, or longer.

Or do you lose ultimate track of time when smoking? What a conundrum.
