Don't fret. I'm sure activity in the Rides section peaks around the major breaks, of which we get few. It's not useless...not as much as the Books section, anyway. 4/11/2002 3:25:52 AM |

i think we need out of state rides - i never need a ride instate - but out of state is an issue - atlanta - knoxville (UT) - louisville ky - nashville tn - places that i either frequent or wish i could more - but driving alone sucks and nobody wants to pay gas money unless they have a reason to be there - i think it'd actually be useful... 4/11/2002 3:40:05 AM |

I think a lot of new users don't realize all of the different things the wolf web offers. Most of them don't see the book exchange...and post books in the classifieds. Same with the rides section. I know I've seen a few requests for rides and whatnot. Perhaps some sort of new users guide (which has been suggested before) could help in this. It could explain each of the sections, perhaps could better explain some things like how to post a picture, use the bold and italics, etc. New users seem to have problems with this. I think many just see it as a message board. 4/11/2002 11:58:29 AM |

I agree with both Special K and OmarBadu. An upgraded new users guide would do wonders for TWW, while at the same time, Rides should probably be extended to include at least this region, if not the entire US. I can understand that's a lot of work, but hey, it will pay off in the end. You can bet on that. Books...well I suppose that section is popular about three times a year, so you shouldn't really expect much traffic through there.

It could be that Rides and Books are never used because they may be at least partly redundant. Classifieds might already do a sufficient job of taking care of those needs. 4/12/2002 12:03:16 AM |

I meant through the ride exchange. I've posted a few rides I needed there and the people I emailed about it that were going the same direction didnt email back.

Maybe a "rides needed this week" banner somewhere on the main page would be useful. 4/18/2002 2:20:20 PM |
