Wow, I just looked at the roster for the bball and 8 incoming freshmen. Yet I just checked a preseason ranking and they are at 14th in the nation? Is this realistic? I doubt it unless it's like a UNC type year from last...

Anyway, UConn can take a big step towards bowl eligibility with a win @ Syracuse this weekend. Also the bball team has 3 games this weekend in some stupid preseason classic with shit teams (sort of like NC State in the past)..

Why do people always freak out when NyM410 posts his UConn threads each year? So what, UConn is a national power in basketball just like the other non-NC State teams that have their own threads (like Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, etc are all good at either football or basketball or both).

And he has said many, many times that he a State fan first so stop posting the Jules picture - it is not going to make him mad or something.

Anyway back UConn - who the hell is even on the team this year? Pretty much everyone from last year is gone.

They have some good kids like AJ Price (highly touted PG who had a brain hemmorahge and then a bout with extreme stupidity), Jerome Dyson -- compared to a raw Ray Allen), Hasheem Thabeet -- who will lead the country in blocks this year and is a 7'3" raw, athletic center, Jeff Adrien who -- a doubledouble everytime out, and a bunch of other very highly rated frosh.

It's going to be a fun season. Much like Duke the expectations aren't as high as usual, but it is a very high ceiling type team. There will be some growing pains as UConn has one of the tougher road schedules in the country this year (@LSU, @GT, @Syracuse, @Pitt, @Louiville, @Indiana, @Marquette, etc, etc)

This is a dirty program. They may have beat us in the Final Four the last two times we played but I'll take a clean program (that still does better just not recent head to head) over a dirty program any day.

Don't make things up. Bends high school scores? Nope. (look up Sean Dockery's scores.. and NO, Duke didn't do anything wrong there)

AJ Price and Marcus Williams fucked up. Personally i don't think they should have stayed in the program. However that wasn't my decision. There is ZERO evidence that they have ever done anything to warrant NCAA sanctions. Don't give me that high and mighty bullshit. Cory Maggette went to Duke.

** anyway I like the way Duke is this year. Young kids and lowered expectations. I just can't stand there high and might bullshitting fans like you. There are plenty of good Duke fans (moody comes to mind) but you ain't one of them.

Looking solid with no scholarship players older then SOPHS. Beat a Sacred Heart team that played UNC tough by 40+ points. This is one of the more enjoyable UConn teams to watch. Some great kids on the team (except you, you piece of shit AJ Price -- not Davis!) and a ton of hustle. I think this team can be special by years end. It's going to be tough @ LSU and @ GT but it should be a fun year in a down Big East.

The UConn2000 project isn't near done, is it? I know it totally transformed the area/campus from what it was when I was younger. It's cool they're doing that downtown Storrs thing because they've needed it for a long time. It will only help to boost recruiting for football (bball sells itself at this point). I don't think this guy realizes the sheer amount of funding UConn gets from the state, which happens to be the richest in the country.
