I've been doing some research on some alternatives to the firmware on my linksys WRT54G router. From what I've read the Thibor is the best.... (utorrent faq) but I'm unsure...

what do you guys think?

I use DD-WRT on my wrt54g. I've got an older router (v2), which has more memory to hold the standard version of the firmware. The newer ones have to use the mini version, which is still very capable. I like the DD-WRT interface a whole lot better than the Linksys one. Do some reading on their site, their wiki is pretty well updated, and the forum is active. http://www.dd-wrt.com/ I just updated to v23 SP2 this weekend with no problems.

I use the SveaSoft firmware on my v2. I know a lot of people on here and all over the internet are disgusted at their ethics (I think for ripping off the openWRT firmware), but it's got a great interface and awesome features. I have no complaints.

^^ but do they say why they dont like DD-WRT?

I put DD-WRT on my wrt54gs and it works fine. I got it so I could use my router as a wireless card for a few months. it did well so I kept it

I installed the DD-WRT v23 SP2 on my wrt54g v2 last night, and I'm really liking it so far.
