Just got back from seeing it. Great great movie. The fight scenes were amazing, and the folks in charge did not get carried away with the love story like in Pearl Harbor and such.

I would suggest this movie for a good mattinee(sp?) show.

Movies like this make me sometimes feel like I was born at the turn of the wrong century.

I read that they overdid the CGI in the movie and instead of looking like a period piece, it looked more like it was set in the future.

If I paid a guy to punch me in the kidneys for two hours, I might give up halfway through.

I saw it the other night and thought it was quite good. Of course from an aerospace point of view, there were a few far fetched maneuvers that WWI planes would not be able to make, but that would be expected in most movies.

my question: Why the fuck in the previews was there a guy running on TOP of the zeppelin? There is no logical reason for that besides ridiculous hollywood crap.

Please renew my faith and tell me why it was plausible

omg sunk costs are sunk lol1

Quote :
"Economists argue that sunk costs are not taken into account when making rational decisions. In the case of the movie ticket, there are two possible end results. The ticker-buyer will have:

1. Paid the price of the ticket and suffered watching a movie that he does not want to see, or;
2. Paid the price of the ticket and used the time to do something more fun.

In either case, the ticket-buyer has "paid the price of the ticket" so that part of the decision should cancel itself out. If the ticket-buyer regrets buying the ticket, the current decision should be based on whether he wants to see the movie at all, regardless of the price, just as if he were to go to a free movie. The economist will suggest that since the latter option only involves suffering in one way (spent money), while the former involves suffering in two (spent money plus wasted time), the latter is obviously preferable.

Well, they screened footage of the guy running on the bottom of the zeppelin to test audiences...but they said they'd rather see him on top of the thing...more believable that way.

kinda like on transporter 2, they originally had him crawl out and under his moving car to remove the car bomb, but audiences said it'd be more believable to have a random crane hook tear it off upon the car doing a perfect flip with a perfect landing.

they were called Zeppelin Walkers in WWI

not something hollywood made up, incase you care.

This is actually one of the most accurate WWI movies made. Everything in it is really well documented at happened much like it is portrayed, even the characters

i knew who was going to die as soon as it started

obviously not the racist guy. he had to befriend the black guy over the course of the movie.

lol, actually the aircrew of a zepplin would often be on it to make repairs to the cloth exterior....

I know the british R100 had crew and designers making aerodynamic and control surface repairs during a trans-atlantic crossing....

Even if the movie is painful i sit there to see if it gets better. In miami vice the last 20 minutes ended up being pretty good so i was glad i sat through the awful first 80%.

I loved this movie.
