15hp on a somewhat typical go kart frame=/ to safe driving period, much less drunk rides home from even the closest places. trust me, been there tested that a few years ago... and that was with just a 5hp (with a few mods) on a modified riding mower chassis. 10/5/2006 2:17:23 AM |

it'd be more fun to have a shifter cart, i would think an engine off a bike would be better in that respect. also the powerband would make it a lil more fun to drive. i do have one angry briggs mortor but im keepin it cause it sure can shop up some serious brush.

I used to race WKA karts on dirt oval, we used modified 5hp briggs and strattons. I ran a restrictor plate class for a few years and was goin 45mph. The stock unrestricteds were doin 60-65mph and were only pushing about 6.5hp, so you might wanna go small. Just get a 5hp B&S from an old garden tiller, clean the carb, put in a new diaphragm and ride. 10/7/2006 3:20:16 PM |

ok I decided to go with a 5.5 HP briggs, got two of em actually so I think we are indeed gonna make 2 carts
any ideas on how to tweak them to get them running alot faster?
also any ideas on suspension/steering, I
really want to make it look mean, more than your normal square frame cart I like some of the ones http://www.edge.au.com/customerbuggies.htm there, but alot of them have huge motors in them
any ideas though?? all help is appreciated. 11/15/2006 5:48:43 PM |

yessa massa alum might be alittle more difficult but the weight difference would be tremendous, i would use steel as thats easy to weld and easy to find maybe...anyone know of any spare they wanna get rid of??
but alum would be my first choice 11/16/2006 11:42:49 PM |
