between two 37" LCDs at the moment

Option A
1366x768, 1200:1 contrast, 8ms response time, 500 nits Brightness, 176 degree viewing angle, 1 DVI Port

Option B
1920x1080, 1000:1 contrast, 12ms response time, 550 CD/m2, 176 degree viewing angle, 2 DVI ports

Option B is $90 more than Option A. Neither are name name brand, but this is not an issue because I will get the 4 year warranty for either one.

My question to you, is the extra resolution worth the worse contrast ratio and response time? I do play some video games so I don't want the image to ghost, but 1920x1080 would be really sweet for Photoshop.

1920x1280 over 37" doesn't sound like it would be so sweet for Photoshop

Well since you shouldn't really beleive or trust LCD contrast over 1000:1 anyways, I'd tend to go with option B if you had to chose based on that information. 12ms to 8 ms response time won't seem that different for most applications unless you're actually running your games at over 80 frames a second.

Post actual models though. Those specs don't nescesarily mean anything, depending on how the manufacturers define their response times. Also, is this going to mostly be a computer monitor, or an HDTV that doubles as a computer monitor or what? If you're going to be expecting to use this as an HDTV or to eventually watch HD-DVD or Blue-Ray content then you need to make sure it's got HDCP.

Anyways, specs can be fudged/misleading so actually look the lcd's first if you can.

Option A is Soyo DYLT037A (new)

Option B is Westinghouse LVM-37W1 REF (refurbished)
