way to much for a CRT, not to mention it doesnt even have a HD Tuner. You can get a good used LCD-projection for that. 10/10/2006 11:10:15 PM |

If it's this one, I have it and it's incredible. I paid about $1700 for mine new a little over two years ago. The picture is great... beter than some plasma's and/or lcd's I have seen. Depending on the condition it may be worth the money.
Regarding the hd tuner.. explain to me the benefit of it other than over the air channels. If you have cable or satelite you have to have the box anyway.

over the air HD is better than HD through a cable box which is compressed. Get an attenna for the best HD.

My dad bought it new in 2000 and paid about $3,500. Obviously that is when the technology first came out. You can probably buy the same TV today for about $1500, brand new. PM for serious inquiries and I can put you in touch with him. 10/11/2006 6:46:07 PM |

well concidering it was bought in 2000 i would say the life is exactly 6 years 10months 11 days and 23 minutes- you better sell that shit asap
on the serious though- my uncle has a big screen that he bought back in 89 that still runs PERFEcT today because he bought a top of the line TV-
that is a great model and was a beast in it;s day- hence it is not some offbrand shit tv that is gonna die anytime soon 10/12/2006 1:24:56 AM |

Toshiba makes a 62" DLP HDTV for around $1,195.00, a 61" for less than $1,100 (New prices from pricegrabber.com)
A new CRT rojection TV thats is more in the $700-800 range, if you could even find a 65" CRT for sale. It seems that CC and BB are getting rid of their CRT Projection TVs pretty fast. There isn't a store in Raleigh that still caries that model. I know that you were asking $900, but for $1,100 I could have a brand new DLP HDTV. 10/12/2006 9:43:10 AM |

Yeah, but then you'd be stuck with a DLP.10/12/2006 9:49:57 AM |

^And why would I not want to be "stuck" with a better picture, better quality, lighter, newer tech., that has a built in HDTV tuner?
If you just like the old CRT because they are heavy as fuck...thats cool too 10/12/2006 10:11:18 AM |

rather have a newer DLP than an old ass crt. 10/12/2006 7:08:27 PM |

The model # is 65H80 and he watches it about 4-5 hours a week, so it has low time on the CRTs. Ebay and Amazon are asking anywhere from $900-$1200 for the same used model. He bought it in December of 2000.
