that would prescribe me a Z-pack.
I know I have a sinus infection, but I dont have the time to go to the damn doctor and sit there for 2 hours for them to agree with me. I have a bout 5 sinus infections a year and the same thing happens. I go tell the doctor what I have. They agree 60min later and prescribe me a Z pack.
I'd pay $50 not to have to take off work. 10/11/2006 12:27:21 PM |

I went to Accent Urgent Care on Asheville Avenue in Cary for a sinus infection two afternoons ago. I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. With no insurance, I walked out of there only $55 dollars lighter and a full course of sample antibiotics.
I have been going to them for a little over 3 years for things like this and I just love them. They always listen to me when I tell them what is wrong with me and even ask me for my medication preference. And I have never been in there any longer than an hour. 10/11/2006 2:41:19 PM |

you dont need a z-pack for every fucking cold. you probably have a virus anyway. 10/11/2006 10:48:30 PM |

^ um, actually no. People who get the same thing often tend to know their own body. I get bronchitis fairly often, and once student health decided to tell me that it was a "virus" even though it was the same thing i'm fairly susceptable to and she didnt bother running any sort of test. I made the mistake of listening, where as the next year I looked at them and said you can either agree it's what i've had, what I know it is, or I'll happily pay for the labwork for you to tell the difference, becuase I'm not going through last year again.
2 days on the antibiotic and I was SO much better, which is normal (they give me Z-pack as well). As opposed to over a month fighting off an infection.
I would agree with you *if* it wasn't a common occurence for this person - the first/second even third time you get something, self diagnosis isn't something i'd vouch for. When you're on time 6+ - fuck it, you know your body. 10/11/2006 11:13:04 PM |

you gotta be careful with sinus clearing sprays and meds....I'm sure you know your tolerance and have been using it a while - but those sprays can really screw you up over long term....not to mention inhaling chemicals 10/12/2006 12:33:50 AM |

Pharmacists cannot write prescriptions, but the nurse practitioner can at a cvs Minute clinic. I am sure you know what you have but they can prescribe exactly what you need. Z-packs are 6 tablets of azithromycin,250 mg. you take 2 at once on day 1 then 1 everyday for the next 4 days. Doctors do sometimes give refills on zpaks, but I don't see it that often. You could also get the doctor to write it for like 18 azithromycin 250 and direct you to tak them the same way you would a zpak. I mean I dunno. Just ask for refills next time? 10/12/2006 2:15:10 AM |
