I am getting real sick of fixing my grandparents pc every other week. Is there an internet appliance, like msntv or an os that only allows an email client and webbrowser,turns instantly on, and is not made by microsoft?

no, but you could sell them basic pc tutorials on the do's and do-not's of websurfing
