Can I get that defered? I am not strongly opposed to Jury Duty or anything, but it's the Wednesday during the first exam week and I have 2 Tuesday, 1 Wednesday morning, 1 Thursday... so I am thinking I'd rather not screw up my last semester of exams here.

Do I need some kind of letter from my professor or NC State?

If you are in college you do not have to go...

If you are in college you do have to go, unless you send a letter to the court requesting a deferral. You simply tell them you are in school that day...that is enough to get you out.

You can get it deferred for doing something related to college/school, whether you need a letter or proof depends on the county. They keep calling me every year for my parents home county instead of where i actually live and they're always like "oh, you dont really live here, okay, right" and call me up 12 months later. :p

Send the letter back if you have time, or in my case as they would send it to my parents and I wouldnt get it for a month, call the clerk of the court and explain the situation.

mine is for wake county... so the whole not in the area thing doesn't work for me

but I would imagine I'd still get defered because I am in school, as you all have mentioned
