He's high on ignorance.

I agree that O'Reilly is an idiotand I agree that what he said is stupidBut it bears reiterating that an infinitessimally small portion of abortions have anything to do with the mother's life being in danger

But it bears reiterating that an infinitessimally small portion of abortions have anything to do with the mother's life being in danger what Bill O'Reilly thinks about them
10/16/2006 10:38:52 PM
^^ STFU. youre an idiot
10/16/2006 10:39:35 PM
What about babies who don't develop a heart of brain? Should the mother be forced to carry that child to term only to have it be born dead? Also, C-Sections are dangerous. anytime someone has to be cut it is serious business. So to say that a C-Section (while it may happen often) is safe, is complete bullshit.
10/16/2006 10:44:31 PM
Did you not see what GrumpyGOP said? He never even mentioned ectopic pregnanies, rather he was talking about abortions as a form of birth control in comparison to the number of abortions that are performed solely for the sake of the mother's health. You just noobed all over yourself, and should really take some of your own advice:

What O'Reily said, whether you like him or not, stands. Our modern medical facilities are capable more often than not of preserving the life of the mother during pregnancy. A VERY small portion of pregnancies end in death for the mother. Why keep abortion just to protect that?

thanks for participating in the discussion, troll. i've said my peace, i'm not going to change any minds on abortion so im not going to bother going further.

learn something about medicine and biology and come back later.

Jo73ji2, be careful coming down from your high horse, I'd hate for you to hurt yourself.I didn't say that cases where it saves the mother's life don't exist, I said those cases make up a very, very tiny part of abortions as a whole.

^^^^, ^ Don't let the facts get in the way of your shitty argument.http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/policy/abortion/abreasons.html

It's a common misconception that "right to choose" fits in under the idea of liberty as defined in our constitution. What about "right to life"? Biologists agree that life begins long before you are born, while you are still in the womb and your heartbeat starts. Abortion stops a beating heart, and is at odds with our "right to life".

Alright, you want me to break out numbers, I'll break out numbers:http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/journals/2411798.htmlPerhaps 2.8% of abortions have to do with the health of the mother. 1.5% had to do with the other "exceptional" reasons. So 95.7% of abortions boil down to, "I don't want a kid."
10/16/2006 11:19:56 PM
that study even admits their data is sketchy
10/16/2006 11:20:05 PM
Good thing for you doctoral students in physics at UT-Dallas count as authorities in the health field.http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/about.html
10/16/2006 11:20:31 PM
And your link to the national institute for health does what to confirm or deny your claim that abortion isn't being used as a form of birth control? If you're going to troll, at least try to be good at it.
10/16/2006 11:21:12 PM
one doctoral student trumps the national institute of health[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 11:22 PM. Reason : 5]

10/16/2006 11:24:07 PM
maybe if birth control was easier to get your would have less abortions, but i forgot, condoms are immoral. we should all wait till 30 to have any kind of sex.
10/16/2006 11:26:24 PM
Hahahahaha
10/16/2006 11:26:25 PM

I'm sure that the various Departments of Health that are made up of health experts would love to know that their work is nothing more than activist fodder. But by all means, troll on.
10/16/2006 11:29:42 PM
^x6 And all he was doing was reporting the facts. With "published" articles like these:# W. R. Johnston, 29 June 2003, Don't downplay risks of abortion, The Brownsville Herald, p. E3.# W. R. Johnston, 7 April 2003, Iraq violated 21-year-old deal, The Brownsville Herald, p. A8.# W. R. Johnston, 17 Aug. 2001, U.S. should have missile defense system, The Brownsville Herald, p. A10.# W. R. Johnston, 4 April 2001, Facts disprove warnings about global warming, The Brownsville Herald, p. A10I have no reason to doubt his 100% accurate portrial of abortion statistics, nor is there a doubt in my mind that his research paper disproves the National Institutes of Health
10/16/2006 11:30:19 PM
Departments of Health that are made up of REAL health expertseither you admit that about 1 percent of all pregnancies require abortion, or you claim the NIH is propaganda. i win. /thread.[Edited on October 16, 2006 at 11:32 PM. Reason : 5]
10/16/2006 11:31:26 PM
^^, ^ Where do you think the author got his information from? Also, show me the NIH's numbers on reasons behind abortion, since you're quoting them on the subject.
10/16/2006 11:32:59 PM
The logical fallacies are hurting me at this point"Either you agree with this one statistic or you are saying that the government is full of liars!"2.8% of abortions in this country are performed to save the mother's life. Now, look up the number of pregnancies in this countryLook up the number of abortionsAnd then humbly concede defeat
