They're both firery Italian coaches, and both are taking traditional losing teams to better records. I see them almost as "brothers".

Mike O'Cain was 6-5, 7-5, and 6-6 his last 3 years here.

We are on pace to go 5-6, 7-5, 6-6. THAT IS THE SAME RECORD!

if the "chuck amato of college bball" was in the ACC, they would beat UNC and Duke, then lose to Clemson and NCSU

yeah, Tenn wasnt a losing program before Pearl, just wasnt anything special at all. A motherfucking sleeping giant! Rabid fan base, biggest on campus bball arena... I would say Pearl has already exceeded Chuck.

I think Pearl has proven himself a little more than Chuck.

Okay, a lot more.

If Chuck was like Pearl, he would've taken his team to the BCS championship two years ago.

If Chuck was like Pearl he'd be the coach in NCAA history to reach 200 victories in the least amount of games (Which would be equivalent to about 75~100 in football)

What I'm getting at here is that Pearl only coached in something like 255 games before he reached 200 victories. Broke the record of our very own Everette Case I believe, who it took like 275

Pearl is an awesome coach...one of the best. Chuck...eh, verdict's still out. Horrible comparison

Fuck you. NC State was not a "traditional losing team" (as you put it) before Chuck.

Get your shit out of here.

Pearl is an awesome coach. He took a team that was under .500 to (a very questionable) #2 seed in the tourney the next season and has a top ten recruiting class coming in.

^ well, you're the dipshit who said we were a traditional losing team.

You must have not been a fan until 2000 and must know very little about NC State's days under Sheridan, Holtz, and several coaches prior. O'Cain wasn't a loser. He just couldn't take us to a higher level.
