My best friend is getting married on June 2 and needs some "entertainment" for the reception. She's especially interested in experienced DJs, but will consider any mellow(ish) bands or singers. Pay is great, let me know if interested. 10/17/2006 8:13:59 PM |

if the "pay is great"
why not go with pros?
My wife and I were married last July, and used Complete Music, specifically a DJ named Brian (I can't remember his last name). We had previously been to two receptions where he was the DJ, and this guy is amazing. He reads the crowd and adjusts the music appropriately to keep the dance floor full. He spent an hour with my wife and me on the phone talking about what type of music we wanted, and what songs we wanted to ban from being played.

It was $750 total for 7 hours.
Or you can gamble and get some random wolfweb person to probably do a shitty job... some things you just don't skimp on. 10/17/2006 10:44:58 PM |

having been to several weddings, directing receptions, and before all that making this mistake on my own wedding, I can tell you the entertainment budget is not one to skimp - if the music/DJ/whatever sucks, guests will cling to the walls (or chairs) and be bored our of their minds.
Been to two events with this guy -- http://www.islandsound.net/collin.html he's awesome -- really gets into it, has a great time, and really livens things up. Both events the party ended because the rental time on the location had expired

well i must say that I will be happy to give you references to weddings, parties, anything i have DJed even clubs in Raleigh...
i tend to have the line of thought decorations and all are great but its the quality of music played that wins a crowd.
feel free to contact me about it and I will be happy to add you this far in advance and reserve that day...we can negotiate things and have a full sit down one day to go over things.
if you need any TWW'ers references im sure there are a few i can find. 10/17/2006 11:24:05 PM |
