of every game, its like our gameplan every week is "hey, lets not lose in the first half and give ourselves a chance on the last drive of the game."

consistently we dont go downfield in the first half, only when we're losing we're like oh shit, lets go downfield.

what actually happens is we use the start of the game to establish the run, then near the middle of the 2nd quarter or passing game starts to work b/c of the D packing the box. unfortunately we always seem to make mistakes near halftime to keep from scoring.

i dont see how you guys think our playcalling is cool, i understand to run the ball to set up the pass but im just not buying into the 5 yard passes, you HAVE to go downfield sometime...and our last td drive doesnt count towards throwing the ball downfield cause they were playing way off...

i just dont feel like our gameplan is to go out there and beat them...its more like lets go out there and hang around and see what happens.

i agree. it's way too conservative. when we had a stout defense like the last couple of years, sure we could get away with it. but now, our defense isn't strong enough to limit teams to less than 20 points. we NEED to score 24, 27+ points to win. trestman should know that and try to score early by going downfield. yea we need to establish the run but to do that, you need to keep the defense honest by throwing downfield sometimes or they'll stack up for the run and it's 3 and out.

1st half points thru 7 games: 53 (0 twice and 3 once)
2nd half points thru 7 games: 88

it's kind of tough to play from behind all the time
