tops amongst ALL NFL Running Backs.

you are comparing apples to oranges.

Sorry for the new thread, but superchevy's logic is all fucked up.

The point had to be made.

Mario has also recovered a fumble and had a game-winning pass deflection

I'm not advocating either, Twista.

I'm simply saying you cannot quantify thier contributions by sacks or TD's.

Thank you for further proving my point.

and he's on pace for a whopping 523 rushing yards...currently 40 of 41 RB's (besting Alexander who's been out for 3 games by 9 yards)

#1 in receptions
#40 in rushing
=average RB

Now I know that I am not the biggest expert on football, but receptions are nothing without yardage. Yes, they got a shiney new receiver (or whatever the position is) so they are gonna pass the ball to him b/c that is what a lot of ppl want.

Could I get a number for Bush that actually matters and then compare it to what a normal person in his position averages?

kkthx

Sacks are more comparable to pass receptions? Someone better tell Peppers he needs to pick his production up if he is going to get 100 sacks for a successful season.

Edgerrin James leads the league in carries

He must be the best RB in the league

However Bush actually has more receiving yards than TO hahaha

course TO has 4 receiving TDs, Bush has 0

but obviously points on the scoreboard win football games, not carries or catches specifically

Third in the league for RB's with 285 yards receiving. 7.5 yds per pass.

39th in the league in rushing with 196; league average is 138 for active running backs with a minimum average of 5 carries per game. 3.0 yards per rush.

Bush is selling tickets at the Superdome and keeping the Saints afloat, fiscally speaking, definitely not on the playing field.

but dont you think, after a year of a bad hurricane and essentially no home football games, that the saints would sell out all their games this year regardless of who they drafted

possibly, but the fact that they have the most dynamic and hyped up rookie certainly doesnt hurt.

hyped up yes

if by dynamic you mean can run, catch and return punts, then yes

still even though DeAngelo Williams is injured and I dont think hes as good as Bush, he is just as dynamic as far as run/pass/return

Bush is still not sniffing LT's jock though...lets see Reggie throw a couple touchdowns, let alone rush and catch TDs

what the fuck are you talking about? i didn't establish a logic or a stance in my thread. i only posted the facts: mario has 2.5 sacks; bush as 0 rushing td's. how are you going to argue that?

fucking idiots. i swear...

Larry Centers caught 101 passes on a Cardinals team that went 4-12
the next season he caught 99 on a 7-9 team
four years later he caught 80 on an 8-8 Washington team, followed by 80 more on a 3-13 Bills team

a combined 14 touchdowns on 360 catches, on teams that went a combined 20 games under 500

Bush = [Metcalf, Harmon]

Saints 5-1
Texans 2-4

It isn't all about stats... you think the Saints would be 5-1 w/o Bush???

who doesn't?

Perhaps they wouldn't have won that game without that punt return.

But the texans would be 1-5 without that deflection, so I guess that's even.

[Edited on October 24, 2006 at 12:24 AM. Reason : punt]

It's entirely possible.

Brees and Deuce are playing great and the D is much better than advertised.

HAHAHA that's so funny that you compare a pass deflection to a punt return.. Tickles me sideways.

Bush himself said that almost anybody woulda ran that back for a TD

I mean, he gives credit to the blocking, why can't you guys?

a ridiculously easy punt return, Mario Williams could have scored with those holes.

wow, I cant believe you are arguing this. Bush has been a flop as an RB but great as a receiver and a punt returner. I expected it because fast RBs dont last in the nfl, you gotta have power to last in the NFL. Give him a few years and he will be a Wide Reciever/ Punt Returner.

They would have won that game because that touchdown was due to blocking not the punt returner...any punt returner in the league would have run that one back imo

Reggie said it himself.

Quote :
"''Once I turned that corner I was just trying to turn on the jets,'' Bush said. ''It was so wide open the slowest guy in the world probably could have scored that touchdown. The monkey's off my back now.''"

They felt good (better) about addressing their defense, they felt they were fine with Davis and Lundy (which just sounds like a corner where a KFC should be, but I digress), Bush's contract demands may not have matched up with their expectations/range of affordability,

If you guys think Bush has more of an impact on their 4-2 record this year, you really don't know jack shit about Aaron Brooks...let alone that they were exhausted last season from travelling around, quasihomeless
