it says "FROM 299" There's an extra fee for a controller, a power cable, an A/V cable, tax, tag, title.

Finder's fee.

I worked for WalMart for over 1.5 years and was full-time (a few weeks where they cut my hours, but not a big deal).

I think full time is governed by what state law says it should be. I think it is supposed to be 34+ (might be 32+). Anyways, thats what I typically got. If I was scheduled for anything less, I told my Assistant Manager and she gave me more hours, mostly b/c she knew that we would probably be shorthanded one day if I wasn't coming in (Garden Center, btw).

Who cares if they're not getting over time? They don't have to work over 40 if they don't want to, and all the work is pretty much drone work anyway, so people will take the job regardless. Whiney anti-capitalism pansies.

The benefits things is something that has always irked me. People are all about biting the hand that feeds them when it comes to Wal-Mart. They act like it is some incredible job that they spent tons of effort and education getting. The fact is, its an entry level sales position. What the hell do you expect?

At WalMart you get:

Vacation Time
Sick Time
Personal Time (aka "I just dont want to fucking go to work so I wont and I will still get paid" time)
Bereavment Pay (2 days paid anytime a blood relative dies and you want to go to their funeral)

I went to Walmart amazed at what they gave (I have worked retail before). Can anyone quote what Food Lion or other entry level, non-professional sales positions give?

I feel for people in these positions, but once again, it is an entry level sales position. You can't make it any more than that. Walmart is a decent job, but not a "great job". You cannot expect it to have the perks of a "great job". This is why people go to college and tech schools.

In all honesty, what kind of benefits do you expect from a job that any old person can do? If you think that hourlies in Wal-Mart have it bad, you have no idea. Salaried management are the ones who get the shaft.
