The ice from my icemaker smells like onions, is this a sign of a bad filter? 10/24/2006 10:24:00 PM |

when is the last time you changed it?
It could also be odor seeping in from something in the freezer - one candidate would be freezer-burned beef. Another could be ... onions Solution here is the clean out the freezer, throw away frostbitten food, then wash out the fridge with baking soda solution - dissolve a couple tablespoons in a half-gallon or so of warm water and just use a washcloth or sponge to wipe everything down. Might want to empty the ice trays too and wash those. 10/24/2006 11:01:26 PM |

Moved into the house about 6 months ago. not sure when the last time the filter was changed, or if there even is a filter, the house is 14 years old. The onion smell has been there since we moved in. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience with an old fridge. 10/24/2006 11:07:31 PM |
