whenever i play videos, whether through wmp or nero showtime or whatever, the videos themselves are very dark...the rest of my screen isn't - games, images, etc. come up just fine, but the videos are almost impossible to see

my monitor, a samsung 940bw is hooked up to my nvidia 6200 through DVI...when i hook up any other monitor using the VGA connector on the card, the videos are the right brightness

no, i haven't set up the samsung on the VGA yet to see if that was the cause, but the fact that it's only video makes me think it's something fixable

thoughts?

I've had this happen before... try these:

- Turn Video Acceleration Down
- Check Brightness/Contrast Ratio
- Twiddle with other performance settings

Turn the video acceleration back up, go into your Display Settings, Advanced, Overlay Tab and adjust the brightness/contrast.

ya, its because of your nVidia consol settings. i had the same problem and just had to adjust the color and contrast/brightness in nVidia's display settings. No need to mess with video acceleration.
