I'm going to go with rag, but I think calcium chloride is an acceptible answer as well.
Why did they fail you though? You either got headlights or you don't IMO. 11/1/2006 2:26:41 PM |

if the headlight comes on, why would they fail you? I'd have some words with the inspection guy over that 11/1/2006 5:53:34 PM |

The thing is, if its holding water its only a matter of time before the bulb blows, and its not right to pass a vehicle on saftey inspection if the headlight could blow at any time. Cause maypop bulbs dont classify as safe. 11/1/2006 5:55:29 PM |

heat up a needle to its orange point...slide it in the bottom most portion of the headlight...let that shit drain....profit. 11/1/2006 6:27:09 PM |

either drill a hole to let it drain, or cook the headlight assembly in the oven at 250 and then take it out and the lense will now pull off of the assembly. then you can dry it out with a towel and ressemble it. 11/1/2006 9:39:24 PM |

stupidity. the lens is glass.
take the headlamp assembly off the car, remove the bulb, and pour the water out.
or remove the bulb and suction the water out while the headlamp is still on the car. 11/1/2006 9:54:50 PM |

why did they engineer a housing without a drain hole? 11/1/2006 9:59:55 PM |

because ideally headlights are suppose to be a sealed environment with barely any condensation 11/2/2006 12:21:52 AM |

use a glass bit. Drill small hole in bottom. $Profit$ 11/28/2006 11:40:50 AM |

yup i've dealt with this before too... depending on the make/model you can pretty easily drill a tiny hole in the bottom, it will drain and you'll pass no problem
make sure to do it on your own, my sister asked the inspection place and they said she would be required to replace the whole headlight, so we drilled it and took it to another place 11/28/2006 12:28:36 PM |

googled it, first thing that popped up http://www.1aauto.com/1A/HeadLights/Honda/Accord/1ALHP00032/426356&ovchn=OTHER&ovcpn=NexTag&ovcrn=&ovtac=CMP
Doesn't anybody have this car? I had a girlfriend way back when, that had that body style, and I'm pretty sure they were plastic. 11/28/2006 10:42:58 PM |
