a DDR module is a DIMM. a DDR2 module is a DIMM. a SDR (aka PC133/100) is a DIMM.

a RAMBUS module is a RIMM.

an EDO module is a SIMM.

a laptop DDR/DDR2/SDR module is a SODIMM.

Go to http://www.crucial.com and put in the make and model of your computer, it will tell you all the compatible types and sizes
