Isn't the gto based off a monaro?

Seeing as how the GTO is getting the axe for next year, I doubt we'll ever see a special version of it in the states.

just read in motor trend that GM might be bringing the Holden Commodore (well SS-V) to the US as the new grand prix. The commordore is whats replacing the monaro so therefore the new grand prix would be replacing the GTO.

The commodore isn't really replacing the monaro. It's their fullsize sedan.

well in europe vauxhall is phasing it out, replacing it with the commodore. (according to 5th gear)

I understand that the monaro is a coupe and the commodore is a sedan. I'm just going by the quote.
