The article in the newspaper today says 3.

Quote :
"Fowler said Amato, who has three years remaining on his contract after this season, would be evaluated at the end of the year. An extension on Amato's contract will be considered by the NCSU board of trustees in April in addition to recommended extensions for women's basketball coach Kay Yow, baseball coach Elliott Avent and cross country and track coach Rollie Geiger.

They usually try to give him an extension almost every year. Most recruits arent going to like it if he only has a few years left on his contract =/.

Not many are arguing that he WONT be back next year. See Lee Fowler for more info on that one....

Whether he DESERVES to be back is another thing completely.

He will be back, he deserves it. Hasn't done anything to warrant replacement. If you consider selling out a NEW pack stadium, building a NEW stadium, bringing in top noch recruits, then you need to seek professional help.

i think he's contracted throught he 2010 season (i thought it was a 10 yr deal when they first hired him). he won't be gone after this season, doubtful he'll be gone after next. he's going to have to really fuck something up to get canned before the 2008-2009 season.

All it takes is 1 ... 1 phone call from cowher saying he is interested...

The rest will/would be history. The buyout isnt that expensive...

Last time I checked it was the FANS that sold out the stadium....

...oh wait, the fans are all bad. Never mind.

It was really cool watching Chuck with the blueprints and his hammer working away building the stadium.

Bringing in top notch recruits.....well sort of. The most important two players we have had since Amato has been here were MOC's recruits. Amato has gotten some good players....but in the end....

ITS THE RESULTS THAT MATTER AND CHUCK IS NOT UP TO PAR. FIRE CHUCK.

I think the other one of the "two" he meant was Torry. In that case he would be correct. But I think we've only had three major NC State players in the current era that are really worth bragging about to other people. The only one Amato can receive credit for "recruiting" is Mario Williams.

he is saying that both torry (although he didnt play for amato) and phil are major standouts that didnt commit of amato. and mario committed during phils era so i really cant give all the credit to chuck.

yeah i do pay attention to recruiting, i'm sure you do to...but the players you named committed during phils era (when we were good!). they didnt commit after phil left! Without phil amato has had a decline in recruiting.

Curtis Crouch
Donald Bowens

Jay Smith
Toney Baker
JC Neal
Kyle Newell

Do you bother to pay attention?

You can take a handful of names out of any schools recruiting classes year to year and use them to show recruiting is ok. The recruiting has clearly gone down since Philip graduated when it comes to depth and quality. Of course we, just like any other ACC school not named Duke or Wake Forest, will get our handful of very talented recruits but I don't understand how you can say it hasn't regressed at all.

And yes, I have read about our recruiting from many different sources. Though people, for some reason, completely discount those sources and seem to want to head back to the "well Chuck knows best" bullshit.

I'm not impressed with your spelling

Well considering your standard we cannot count sophmores on the list because goddamnit, they committed during Philip's Senior Year.

^I'm not heading back to the Chuck knows best bullshit. but as it stands, Scout.com when it comes to football rankings is lacking. This is a fact that has been recognized across the nation.

they do pay attention and alot of those guys were 2. most of them were no more than 3 stars so they call it a decline in recruiting when really some of htose guys (willie young) are better than most 5 star recruits.

I do realize we are 3-7. That is not due to a lack of talent. It's due to a lack of coaching

Now pull your head out of your ass and understand.

yeah its not because a lack of talent, ur right. look at the o-line, they are terrible! and our TE is amazing, no wait, he cant even catch a fucking ball! the defense is poor except for the interior line and safties. oh and our air attack should be feared by everyone!

Again, I'm not saying our recruiting is awful. Just that I feel it has gone down a notch since Phil graduated. What you said is true. However, as I've said to you before, the most coveted recruits will become great players at a much higher % than those who are not as highly recruited by the big time schools.

In what was supposed to be a down year defensively, we are still one of the best defenses in the fucking conference.

Talent has never been an issue defensively since phil's senior year. Offensively we do have issues and those issues reside in the quarterback and tight end
