wolfcreek? i believe in NC you legally only have to give 30 days notice.
put it in writing and drop it off. 11/10/2006 12:18:17 AM |

i guess im screwed because that law says 60 days for the rental of a space in a manufactored home, which i guess is this since its one bedroom of a 4-bedroom apartment 11/10/2006 12:36:43 AM |

Talk to Student Legal Services. There are all kinds of ways to get out of those things - PARTICULARLY "automatic renewal" clauses.
NEVER take what an apartment complex says at face value. They are all out to screw you and get as much money as they can.

Just leave, dont pay. Tell them they were dicks to try and pull that shit on you, and if they send you any bills, they will hear from your lawyer. Stand up to them, odds are they will back down. 11/10/2006 9:17:01 AM |

Lets say they assumed you were moving out unless you said otherwise you would have people bitching about the exact opposite. I can see it now....

Give notice today, state that you will be willing to pay a pro rated amount for the extra days added to the lease, sjtu like you get if you move in halfway through a month, and state that you are willing to move out by date x, and that they may rerent the apartment as soon as you have moved out. You move on time, they get the apartment to rent, it costs you a wopping what $10 a day for the few extra days. 11/10/2006 10:37:10 AM |

State laws says that if you do NOT give notice to move out, and the landlords does NOT tell you to move out, you automatically continue month to month at the terms of your old lease IF no provision for said event is made in the currentold lease. Thus you can live some place for 300 a month, and after a 1 year lease, you might live there for months or even years, untill a new lease is signed you are still under the terms of the old lease. 11/12/2006 5:31:23 PM |
