Want to Monitor Central NC Police/Fire/Rescue Online?

Now you can using free TeamSpeak software.

You do have to go through a one time install process but it is quick and easy.

1) Download the TeamSpeak Software from the following link:
http://www.incidentbroadcast.com/TS_Download/TeamSpeak_Client_Installer.exe
and Install it.

2) Run TeamSpeak and after it starts up select:
Connection->Quick Connect. A box will pop up that
will look like this:



Fill in the server blank with the above server address.
Put anything non-obscene in for a temporary nickname for the moment.
Leave the username & password blanks empty.
Click "Connect".

3)After you are connected look at the 4th menu item at the
top that says "Self". Click on that then click on "Register
with server" near the end of the menu under "Self". select a
non-obscene username and password and register it.

4) In the left panel scroll down until you see "Wake County" like in the picture below.




Right click on the "Wake County" line with a box to the left of it. Select "Switch to Channel". Now you are monitoring Wake County Radio traffic.

5) you can also select any of the other numerious feeds that are available from all over the US or even Canada.

6)Need a copy of local 10 codes/signals so you can understand what is being said? Look at one of my websites here:

***Do be Aware this is NOT my personal radio feed so I cannot pause/stop/change anything with the scanner. I hope to have one of my radios online in the upcoming weeks with the ability to see the scanner display using Windows Media Player or Winamp...yes, I know this takes a little effort to set this up the first time but those that really want to hear what is going will take the few mins needed to set this up***

Another Few notes:

1)Raleigh PD units always begin with a 2xxx.
2100 Units= Northwest Raleigh
2200 Units= Northeast Raleigh
2300 Units= East Raleigh
2400 Units= Southeast Raleigh
2500 Units= Downtown Raleigh
2600 Units= Southwest Raleigh (including NCSU)

2) Central NCSHP (Highway Patrol) will be C3xxx
Example: C349, C339, C345

3) You will also hear the automated female "Locution" voice dispatch for Raleigh/Wake Fire/EMS dispatch. This is a computerized voice reading back a call that a dispatcher typed into CAD. you will hear the alert tones before "Locution" reads off the call.

Bigman-> Nah...that would be NCSU public safety and I usually don't monitor them unless something big is going on on campus...and it does not sound like this person is scanning NCSU public safety anyway...

BTW: it is really weird hearing the actual radio traffic on my radios then hearing it dispatched a second or two later over teamspeak very little delay with this rebroadcast so you hear radio traffic almost realtime...

main thing to remember is that public safety two way radio can go silent between transmissions for a few seconds or if it is really late at night can go silent for a few mins....the hot time to listen weekdays is 10pm-midnight and best evenings to listen are Friday/Saturday...and the annoying Squawk you hear when a Raleigh PD officer keys up is a way for dispatchers to keep track of who is keying up...that squawk sends a radio ID to a box located at Raleigh/Wake 911 where a dispatcher can match it up with an officers callsign....
