I got an odd problem that I have never encountered before and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this and can provide any assistance. When I install some games it goes through the entire install process but at the very end it does not actaully install any files on the hard drive. It is like I never went through the install process. Now this only happens with some games and not others. So far its happend with Doom3 and CoD2. I am installing on a WD Raptor sata drive with WinXP Pro sp2 and all updates. Thanks for any advice.

If you're using an nVidia motherboard, make sure you didn't install their IDE drivers when you went through the chipset install process. You can attribute all sorts odd I/O bugs to those piece of shit drivers.

Do you have enough free space on your hard drive?
Can you actually see the files being put on the hard drive as the game is being installed?
Are you running your machine with administrative rights?

Sorry, you gave us very little to go off of. More details of any sort would be appreciated.
