jesus h. christ, Project Pat is fucking terrible

I think out of all the albums that have come out this year, this is the one that I've been looking forward to the most. The couple of tracks that I've heard have been awesome. Now that Nas is with Def Jam he is either going to step it up to the next level or be over-produced and radio friendly, I hope its the latter

I mean, I know it's TWW and all, but e-people still have opinions.

and I happen to value mine, as you should yours.

I love both of those albums, and the only song I skip on IWW is "Nas Is Coming" with Dre.

I've never caught on to Dre, other than "Let Me Ride"

christ, it's music. if i thought i had to find a redeeming quality in aesthetics, I'd shoot my art-loving face off.

non redeeming- it tells impressionable idiots that its ok to be a scumbag and deal drugs and shoot people

and theres no classics, everything is a fad, just like slap bracelets and pacifiers

if you listen to it, you should probably evaluate what your values are and if you plan on accomplishing anything in life

maybe I won't be forced to listen to another impromptu rap battle by burger king employees over the frier

^Thanks for those

Nas the N did nothing for me at all. I hate the beat. Sounds like an "anthem" song and has a lot of gospel type sounds in it. The Chorus was horrible. The flow was okay

Hip Hop is dead was decent. The flow is really nice. The beat is way too lame(why would he just recycle Thief's Theme? The songs don't even correlate) other than the piano church keys which I enjoyed.

I hope the actual release is better. I'm tired of listening to Illmatic for the ######th time.

shit i can appreciate most all of his catalog

i am and nastradamus have a few good cuts if you add them together

stillmatic and god's son are both real nice albums, and not mentioned a whole lot when speaking of him

not so much on street's disciple, but i can still dig that shit from time to time

gotta like his work with the firm, too

I hated the firm the album

only 2 listenable songs

that's ok, I like the rest of his stuff enough to ignore it

man see i thought the firm was great when you consider the individual components...well, nature and fox sucked, but nas and AZ...should have been smarter and collaborated more afterward

Despite the recycled beat, I really like "Hip Hop Is Dead". Lyrics are great, and the beat has enough new twists to be interesting (the organ notes, the "apache" breaks, etc). "The N" is decent, nothing too special, but still better than most stuff off of Nastradamus and I Am.

Only other song I've heard so far is "Black Republicans". I was REALLY digging it at first, now I'm not so sure. I kinda like Jay's verse, talking about his beef with Nas (or at least I assume that's what he was talking about - maybe he's talking about Dame.) But the beat might be a little too much. I dunno.

Southern/Crunk/Gangsta rap seems like the most retarded shit I've ever heard.

But a lot of hip hop is pretty good. There are lots of independent artists that I like who rap about other things besides snapping yo fingers, getting crunk, smackin that ho's ass, etc.
