The High School AD who puts on this tournament(and is apart of my athletic conference) asked me to come out and watch the Nationals Bracket Championship Game between Mount Zion CHristian Academy(their Nationals Team) & Victory Christian Prep School from PA.

Wolfpack fans, let me just tell you first hand from sitting front row and observing one of Sidney Lowe's recruits...the Wolfpack Nation will go into a winning era which we have not seen since the mid 80's. Smith was stealing the ball from guards, blocking shots by centers, making shots with two & three guys guarding him. He even made 3-4 three pointers from the corner! He has INSANE speed, and he has the buld of a power forward but plays like a guard/center at times.

He finished the game with about 25 pts, 4 steals, 3 blocks, 3 assists...Roy Williams was sitting across the court from me as well as a recruiter from NC A & T, ECU, NCSU, and Wake Forest...and all I could do was look at Roy Williams and smile....b/c Im sure he was thinking-how did I let this one slip through my fingers!

GO PACK!

Tyreke Evans from the other team was FUCKING AMAZING..it was awesome seeing him and Tracy go at it...it was odd b/c they never really gayrded one anotehr due to the fact that Evans is a guard and Smith is a F/C....Evans is a beast and walked circles around all thre of Mount Zion's top point guard, who ever gets Tyreke Evans will easily be drafting a top 10 NBA recruit..hands down...

but mark my words guys..Tracy Smith is for REAL..sitting sidecourt and seeing him at NCCU's basketball coliseum, I sat there and was thinking..Duke and UNC...you guys wont know what will hit you come the 2007-2008 season...GOOD JOB LOWE..keep up the kick ass recruiting!!

GO PACK!

really though if you were a recruit that's the best way to go about it. you never know what could happen between now and signing day.

that said, i see no reason why tracy won't be w/the pack next season.

^^^^ I'd say Hickson will help us down low the most. Should be exciting next year with them two coming in.

the guys we've got commitments from know that this could be a long season. they signed with us mainly because of playing time. if we have a good year, then great... but these recruits know what they are gettin into.

I really cant get into the recruiting phase because you have all these kids and you never know whos actually going to come play. Once they sign and are academically eligible then thats when it gets my interest.

the only thing that gets me about tracy smith is what he said when he committed.

"Im goin to NC State....i guess"

hopefully that was taken out of context when written down

^ yeah. i listened to it with the free pp premium they had going on. it wasn't really taken out of context, it almost sounded like he didn't know how to start the press conference and the 'i guess, nc state' was more of an 'i guess i'll just tell you' but who knows.
