Just got introduced to them...they're an amalgam of guys from Dying Fetus, Suffocation, Pyrexia, Catastrophic, and Misery Index, but sound nothing like you'd expect (perhaps most heavily influenced by DF).

What's weird is that there's a heavy punk influence to it, in that they use some of the punk rhythm and chord structure. Normally I'm not into punk or anything similar to it, but the energy of it combined with the death metal aspect is actually pretty awesome. Believe me, it's still obviously a band of death metal kings, they spare nothing with blasting, double bass, gutteral growls, insane solos, all that...but it's a high-energy, fast-flowing album with a pretty cool sound.

No, metalcore was metal and hardcore.

Metal + Punk = Thrash or Crossover.

Musically I like this band, but I'm not really liking the vocalist after previewing the first two songs. I'll give it a more thorough listen later.
