Apparently ABC is losing money due to advertising

They are demanding TimeWarner pay $1 per customer a month which is around $600,000 and of course TimeWarner isn't going to pay

As it stands now neither side is moving and it looks like TW will drop abc come January 1, 2007

the must-carry provision only works when the network deems the channel as a must-carry and can not charge anything to the cable provider for retransmission..

By charging a $1/customer, ABC lifts the must-carry provision and TWC is allowed to drop the channel if they feel that the charge isn't warranted..
