Hi ya'll, I know this is difficult to sell on TWW, but I'll give it a shot anyway I am selling my 2006 TSX that I newly bought in May. Single, non-smoking owner with no pets. Night hawk black exterior and black leather interiors with silver trim; It's loaded with features - Voice controlled Bluetooth HandsfreeLink for cellphones, Steering wheel audio controls, Heated front seats, Power windows, Power front seats with memory, Heated power door mirrors, Mp3/ AUX input jack (for ipod), XM Satellite Radio, remote window control, Homelink system, Maintainance Minder, 24hr road side assistance; Gives close to 29 MPG in the cities and upwards of 32 in the highways. It has also been treated with SIMONIZĀ® System 5 Environmental Service ($600 value) for paint protection with TeflonĀ® that will guarantee the new car finish for 5 years. It also protects against Acid rain, bird waste, tree sap, bugs and other pollutants. No need to wax this car to get the new look! Just wash and it gets its shine back!
The car is in mint condition but for minor scratches on the bumper. Has the 6- Yr / 70K Powertrain Warranty and 4-Yr / 50K Vehicle Warranty. It has run for 11500 miles and has had the first two services, both at the dealership. I have all the documents for proof. If you own this car, you will not need any tune-ups for 100K+ miles at which point you'll get a free tune-up. I am available most of the evenings for test drives. Feel free to pm me, and don't forget to tell your friends!

Did you really fall for the "paint protection system"? You realize that the sealant they use probably costs them less than $10 per application is no better than stuff you can readily get yourself.... FYI
But aside from that, sweet car. Good luck selling it. Night hawk black is one of my favorite OEM paints. 12/4/2006 12:45:41 AM |

My bad.. you can't get teflon spray anywhere for that price. What I meant was that you can get something just as effective for the same price.
Teflon is merely a gimmic used by dealers... its a word easily recognized by the consumer public. For instant.. nothing sticks to teflon coated pans.. This is the effect that most consumers think the application will have on their vehicle. However, in order to adhere any amount of teflon (its not pure teflon on the pan), you have to use an incredible amount of heat. The solution simply cannot bond without heat (something to the effect of over 500 degrees F).
What is done is teflon is suspended in some sort of sealant. The paint surface can be electro-magnetically charged to aid in the adherence of the sealent.. however this is really another gimmic. This would only result in a bond about the strength of rubbing a ballon against wool and then putting a piece of fabric on it. The fact of the matter is... when the sealant wears off, so does the teflon. Its gone.. That's why they want you to come in for yearly maintenance applications. Granted, I still don't feel any lsp (last step product) on the market can protect a finish for a year under normal driving conditions, but still better than one application lasting five years.
I think Dupont actually patented a line of car care products with teflon in them and through various testing, a few consumer research companies found that the teflon had zero effect.

I felt the need to teflon coat it especially coz the color is black. Now it shines so much that I swear it was almost impossible to get good pictures of the car without capturing the entire sky on its hood! I love this car and hate to let it go..
For those who are curious, the only difference between a 06 TSX and a 07 TSX is the tire pressure monitoring system. And all things being equal, if you are buying new, I doubt you can get one out of the dealership for less than $30K.

i haven't bothered to check to see if there is are 2006 TSXs still on lots around here but if there are - the carsdirect price (after they take their cut - so arguably it could be had for slightly less than their price even - but this is the no haggle price)

you know that its more than just a teflon coating right? Leith will repaint any chips in the paint for free if you get stone chips, tree sap etc etc etc. 12/4/2006 12:47:49 PM |

so you aren't attempting to lower the price of your used 2006 tsx when a new one can be had with no haggle for ~$150 less? 12/4/2006 4:39:55 PM |

If you read my previous post, I "doubt" that you can get a new 06 TSX at the dealership. I need to verify that myself. If it is indeed going for that price, I am open for negotiations.
Just as a reminder, what you get with my car that you don't with a new 06 (if available) SIMONIZ treated - $600 value Acura all season floor mats - $130 value Free documentation - ($$ at the dealership) 12/4/2006 4:49:07 PM |

will trade a mazda 3 2006 10k miles plus 5k or ill pay 23k 12/4/2006 9:51:51 PM |

^ Close but not close enough. If you wanna talk / take a test drive, pm me!
Also, I might consider a trade, but only after I get a minimum of $22K in hand (have to close out the loan!). So if you've got a decent car (that's worth ~4 - 5K) and you can give me $22K on top of that, I might consider it. 12/5/2006 11:58:39 AM |
