Why do you argue with these guys over WVU and the Big East? They clearly are biased and have no idea that the 6th place Big East team was 10 minutes away from beating Virginia Tech @ Blacksburg this year.

Hell, the ACC Champ barely scraped by the two WORST Big East teams, UConn and Syracuse. The only saving grace the ACC had this year was that VT didn't schedule any tough OOC games and was able to beat up on the soft ACC to stay in the Top 15 of the BCS.

The ACC champ the last 4 years has averaged finishing (22, 8, 7, 14) at 12.75. Under the old BCS bid review (that was abolished after WVU beat Georgia last year -- go figure) the ACC's automatic BCS bid would be up for review following this year because their 4 year average is over 12. Conversely the Big Easts 4 year average is (6, 11, 10, 9) is 9.00.

** oh and to be fair Rutgers wouldn't have won the ACC in my mind. WVU and UL would have, but not Rutgers..

What kind of fucking nonsense is that? RU beat one of them and lost by 2 (in an away game) to the other? How can you possibly say that there is a clear separation between 2 of the 3? Rutgers outplayed WVU this weekend. Had it not been for either 1) a dropped pass or 2) the zebras blowing a fumble call, RU would have beaten both of them.

Let me clarify. It's better as far as prestige obviously but I don't think it's better as far as job security and $$$ potential. At a school like WVU or Rutgers you aren't pressured to win a NC and you won't be fired after 1 or maybe 2 'down' years. They are both state schools that WILL have $$$ to give extensions/facility upgraded/etc.. I'm sure you know more about Miami's donors and boosters than I do but from what I've read they don't have the $$$ potential of a school like 'Bama to attract a coach already in a decent situation..

Honestly, Miami has never hired a big name Coach and I doubt they will now. Jimmy Johnson, Dennis Erickson, Butch Davis and Larry Coker were all nobodys when Miami hired them.

In order for a Miami coach to be be okay with the fanbase, they will need to lose between 0-2 games a year and not lose games they're not supposed to (UNC, Maryland, etc.) Occasional losses to FSU, V Tech and high powered out of conference foes will be acceptable, but this should not happen at home. Miami went ten years without losing in the Orange Bowl. With all of the talent in the area, there is no reason they shouldn't be able to maintain this level of success.
