its on Packpride too. I can't access a link from work.

Basically, they are adding 8,000 more seats....which is obviously the answer to low tickets sales..

^ ha ha that is like the gym I go to. The are raising their monthly fees because their enrollment has gone down due to a new gym that opened up in town. Makes no damn sense

I think UNC should stick with improving their shitty bathrooms and concourse area while giving their stadium a facelift. There is no need for the Kentucky of the ACC to expand anything football-wise.

lol, but they're also sheep over there

If you build more seats, they'll assume there is some demand and want to get in on it.

off topic:
economics (and international politics) was my best subject by far even though i majored in psychology and political science. my friends that know me well enough, and how i mismanage my own finances wouldn't believe me, but it's true. economics classes held my attention, and they were easy as fuck for me.

I whole-heartedly agree. When I was there for the State game, I could not believe how piss poor the design of the concourse was, as well as the lack of room to manuever there

i think its rather obvious that this was a sticking point with butch, and the assumption is that the increase in wins will lead to an increase in ticket sales

They are paying butch big bucks, and are being proactive, i commend that, its better than our administration, that waits until the facilities are at rock bottom to start improvement campaigns....i mean really, when are we going to get a new bookstore, when that old motherfucker falls down, could you even imagine something like that on UNC's campus, the answer is no, I know its not an athletic facility, but its a good example of the attitude around nc state.

If I were a chapel hill fan, with all that money they have, i would hope that they would keep it up until they get 100k stadium, why the hell not

UNC Fan, "Haha, probaly cover them with a tarp and put up cardboard people"

They will sell out 70K easy for Butch's first season, so this move makes sense, course I don't know when it will be done, and yea, butch's is getting paid bigtime, so they might be paying his salary. I remember when Shaq signed withthe Lakers and every ticket went up something insane like over 30% in one off season to pay him

1. Add more seats
2. Reduce price of all seats
3. Sell more seats
4. Break even

WTF? Are you serious?

I'll pay you $100 if UNC sells out a 70k stadium in the next 10 years. Jesus Christ.

They couldn't fill their stadium the year they were good and won the Peach Bowl.

The construction is supposed to take place from 2008-2010. That means butch has at least one, more likely 2 years before they even start building it. If UNC does well then they will sell most of the new seats....if UNC doesn't do well, I wouldn't be surprised if the construction "gets delayed" for some reason....

I wonder how long it would take for us to add on to C-F if our new coach is really successful in the next few seasons.

"Carter-Finley Stadium was opened in 1966 as home to the North Carolina State University Wolfpack football team. The stadium replaced the obsolete on-campus Riddick Stadium and was originally named Carter Stadium in honor of Harry C. & Wilbert J. "Nick" Carter, both graduates of the university. They were major contributors to the original building of the stadium. The name of Albert E. Finley, another major contributor to the University, was added later. While located on University land, the stadium is a few miles to the west of the academic campus on Trinity Road just off of Hillsborough Street. The capacity is approximately 60,000 seats.

Prior to the 2001 season, the university began a program of modernization of Carter-Finley. The southern endzone was enclosed with seats, and the state-of-the-art Murphy Center (named for Wendell Murphy) was built. Following the 2004-2005 football season, Carter-Finley was again expanded with the completion of the "Vaughn Towers", a complex of luxury boxes, club seats, and media facilities which opened for the 2005-2006 football season.

yeah, that was the point I was making, (60's) actually, but same difference

I would rather be made fun of for builging bigger than people thought you deserved/were worth, then having to wait 20 years too long for renovations to start on the Carter
