only when playing games... just reinstalled windows so it's not malware... but it's causing my games to have horrible framerates even with settings all the way down

any idea what could be causing this?

something use 6% of your cpu isn't necessarily the cause of bad framerates. what's using the other 94%?

drive indexing service perhaps?

get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com and have a closer look at the offending process
