i support TOB. he's a proven HC in our conference. not as an OC, not at navy/dII, but he has kept a very under-resourced boston college ranked ALL SEASON (which would be an absolute miracle for us).

you're crazy to think he's going to suck based on his track record.

Tom O'Brien is the most proven head coach on our list of candidates. You cant argue that no matter how you skew the facts. He gets screwed out of big bowl games because he's the head coach at a university where nobody gives a fuck about football and their fans are whiney bitches and dont travel.


He WANTS to come to NC State because of our great facilities and GREAT fan support. Give him the respect he deserves until he proves otherwise.

1) He has been successful in both conferences he has coached in with BC.
2) Had BC in position to win the ACC championship in his first ACC year (lost @ Miami to finish second)
3) He already knows how to recruit to a big football program
4) This is a step up for him, we have facilites, and fans that support the team.

as i mentioned in another thread, he was very near playing for the acc championship this year (and last if i remember correctly). now he's come to a bigger school w/ more support and better facilities, and everyone seems to think that it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to win the acc here. bullshit.

^ herb had murphy's full support and we still managed to run him off. i was in favor of that move, however.
