"A psychological thriller centering on a man who is obsessed with an obscure book titled "The Number 23" and becomes convinced that the book is based on his own life. "

February 23, 2007 Release

Wow, this is the first role like this I've seen Jim Carrey play. Very unexpected. Considering the quality of his serious performances in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Majestic, and The Truman Show this could be a very intense, entralling movie to watch. The premise sounds really intriguing too.

Tupac was gunned down exactly seven months after All Eyez On Me was released. He was shot on September 7th and survived on 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and died the 13th. (7 Days) Tupac Shakur was 25 years old. His age adds up to 7 (2 + 5). Even his time of death, 4:03, adds up to 7 (4 + 0 + 3). Have his brand new double album entitled "R U Still Down?"??? Well, this album was released on November 25th. 2 + 5 = 7

i wouldnt go so far as to say the premise sounds really intriguing, but this movie could be alright, i'll check it out, and its definately a new type of role for carey.

they mentioned dropping of the a bombs and some other dates that add up to 23..

surprised they didn't mention 9/11/2001

yeah, I initially drew a link to the "Stranger than Fiction," but it's a shaky link if anything

and yeah, I'll admit, Dr. Pepper was my first thought

but in all seriousness, the trailer looks great

ha, that first post of mine was just because he said "the premise sounds really intriguing," my point was just that people find these type of number coinsidences all over the place, and that in itself isnt that intriguing.

This is a stupid premise for a movie... if you look hard enough for any pattern in numbers you can find it.

Yeah, too bad its not King Kong, or The Hulk, or some other gay movie with tons of CGI in it. What the hell were they thinking making this movie?

I thought it was OK. Basically once again I ruined a movie for myself by predicting the outcome based on the trailers. To help explain the premise of the film I compared The Number 23 to two other films. Didn't think it was going to be EXACTLY like the films I thought.

I won't say what two movies because I'm not trying to ruin it for anyone. (guess we can wait til the end of the weekend before we discuss spoilers, plot holes, etc) But if I hadn't already seen a few movies just like this I would have liked this movie a lot.

i thought the movie was good except for the ending. i thought it ended all too easily and pretty-like. i woulda liked to have seen a much better ending to it.

saw it on friday. it was entertaining, but a felt tad on the long side (which probably isnt so good since it is only 90-something minutes). some of the things didnt tie together as well as the writers/director might have liked, but i dont think it was bad as ppl in this thread make it out to be.
